Daily management of quartz sand filter

The quartz sand filter uses quartz sand as the filter medium. Under a certain pressure, the water with higher turbidity is filtered through a certain thickness of granular or non-granular quartz sand, which effectively intercepts and removes suspended solids, organic matter, and glue in the water. It is a kind of high efficiency filtration equipment that can reduce water turbidity and purify water quality by using high-quality particles, microorganisms, chlorine, smell and some heavy metal ions.

After the system has been shut down for a long time, when it is reopened, the filter material should be washed for about 5-30 minutes, and rinse until the water is clear.
When the system runs for the first time or after a long-term shutdown, the equipment should be exhausted.
For large filters, air scrubbing can be used to enhance the backwashing effect. Generally, compressed air (strength 10-18l/s.m2) is introduced, and then air-water backwashing is performed.
When the equipment is backwashed, the backwash intensity should be controlled to avoid the quartz sand washing and leaking out of the system.
